As the Nurse Unit Manager for the Cardiac Catheter Laboratory you will play a pivotal role in maintaining exceptional patient care standards. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, you will oversee both administrative and clinical aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab, leading by example and fostering a culture of excellence among the lab staff. Your role will involve strategic planning, coordination of clinical decisions, and driving educational initiatives for junior staff members.

Key responsibilities

Managing and coordinating operations at the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. This role demands financial acumen, commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to drive continuous improvement projects within the lab.

  • Managing a small team 15 people however a lot of part time people so a small FTE
  • 1 procedure room with 5 - 7 procedures a day
  • Hours - M-F 7.30am - 4.30pm
  • Will have a clinical load if needing to cover leave, staff sickness etc
  • Excellent 2IC already there, good supportive team

Ideal candidates will possess

  • Minimum 2+ years comparable health managerial experience
  • A strong background in Cardiology management
  • Must have Cath Lab experience or Critical Care with Coronary Care experience
  • Expertise in Cardiac Catheter procedures
  • Effective communication skills, and a dedication to patient safety and quality care.
  • An understanding of Human Resource principles
  • Ability to lead teams, manage resources efficiently, and drive educational programs
