Join one of Australia's prominent healthcare providers as the Perioperative Services Nurse Unit Manager, where you will play a crucial role in leading the Procedural Areas team.

Responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of our theatre facilities, focusing on patient safety, operational efficiency, and team development. In this position, you will provide essential support, leadership, and governance to the nursing and ancillary staff, collaborating closely with our VMO community to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and coordinate theatre services including overseeing 4 Operating rooms, Day procedure, Post anaesthetic care unit, & CSD.

  • Managing a team of approx. 25 nurses, Theatre Technicians, Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD)
  • Mon - Fri - 7:30am - 4.30pm
  • Will have a clinical load if needing to cover leave, staff sickness etc
  • Implement best practices and legislative requirements, ensuring excellence in care delivery
  • Lead human and material resource management aligned with the theatre schedule
  • Collaborate with VMOs for theatre allocation and equipment management
  • Recruit and retain nursing and theatre assistants
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Ensure financial outcomes of perioperative services meet performance targets

Experience and Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with NMBA through AHPRA
  • Must have perioperative nursing experience
  • Formal perioperative Nursing qualification desired
  • Strong understanding of clinical standards, policies, and procedures
  • Experience in Human Resource Principles and procurement
  • Commitment to best practices and patient outcomes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Desire to work in a mission-based organization
