Registered Nurse - Contracting

Job summary

Our client is looking for experienced General Registered Nurses to join their team of healthcare staff to support them on short-term contracts to start ASAP (with an option to extend for longer) . You will be allocated to a ward based on your skills and experience so having Hospital experience is a must.

This Central Auckland role is easily accessible by Bus, Train, Car or Bicycle. Whether you can work 1 day per week or 5 days per week throughout the next 3 months, we would love to hear from you and will try to accommodate your shift, day, and time preferences as best as we can. This will be shift work and the hours are generally AM shifts (0700-1530), PM shifts (1430-2300) or Nights (2300-0730) however, the client is happy to discuss hours on a candidate by candidate basis.

Your duties will include assisting in the smooth running of the wards by providing compassionate care and support to your allocated patients, provide medication, documentation, updating and advising patients and their families regarding any progression or regression of their loved one's condition, good teamwork and communicating with other healthcare professionals and discharging of patients.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Right to work in NZ essential
• Have at least 1 - 2 years NZ Nursing Experience
• Current clean Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) with the NZ Nursing Council
• Current CPR, Basic Life Support or First Aid Certification
• Be able to provide the details of x2 past Clinical Managers who can discuss and confirm the last 2 years of your Nursing experience
• A strong customer service focus with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Current Indemnity Insurance (NZNO Registration)
• Be willing to undergo pre-employment occupational health checks

Desirable extras

• Intravenous Fluid Certificate
• Pre-& Post-operative surgical experience
• Previous Surgical Admissions and day-stay experience
