Essential requirements

You must have experience working in a Mental Health setting along with the valid qualifications to work in the capacity of a Mental Health worker/Psychiatric Assistant & to be considered for this role.

The successful candidate will have:

• Evidence of Level 4 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or the equivalent
• Ability to obtain x2 clinical references from two senior referees whom you have worked with in the last 2 years to confirm your experience
• A minimum of 6 months Mental Health experience
• Must have a valid working VISA
• Must be willing to travel to various locations in Auckland for shifts
• CPR or First aid training

About the role

We are seeking dedicated and experienced Psychiatric Assistants/ Mental Health workers to join our casual bureau. Our main client which you will be working at will be in South Auckland however, sometimes out clients in Central, West & North Auckland may also need your support. This role will give you the opportunity to use your knowledge and experience to support patient's recovery pathways, build strong partnerships with patients/ communities. You may be expected to deliver personalised responsive support and rehabilitation plans and activities to enhance the well-being of patients whom you support. Our Client is seeking a strong focused person that involves the development of complex therapeutic relationships. You will be working alongside and supporting numerous healthcare professionals such as Registered Nurses, Psychiatric Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Doctors, Social Workers, Mental health and other allied health care professionals.

A holistic and team approach will be expected when working with clients, families, groups as well as communities. Skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and good decision making are of utmost importance to ensure safe and competent care are provided to patients.
