Medacs is recruiting for a new and exciting Mental Health Occupational Therapist role based in Hobart TAS. This is a senior role with a 0.4 leadership component and a 0.6 clinical workload.

The role:

Permanent, full time, day work, working 76 hours per fortnight

Please note that part time hours may be considered.

Their ideal candidate will have broad experience in the delivery of mental health services and a passion for supporting and empowering staff to deliver innovative mental health care. They are seeking a dynamic person who can work effectively with the management team and a range of external stakeholders. You will be managing a team of approx. 10 OT's across - Acute, Adult Community, Rehab, Home team etc.

The management of the team will focus more on professional supervision, service development, staff development, policy, projects etc. There is direct Team Leaders for the more day to day management. You will also have a clinical load of 0.6 in the Adult Community Team

You will be working with available support and encouragement from the senior management team including the Director of Allied Health.

Duties:

  • This role outreaches to OTs across inpatient and community based adult mental health services while being based with a supportive home team.
  • The representation, practice guidance and professional development of their OT team
  • Leading and driving the OT scope of practice
  • Co-ordinating our student experience and ensuring positive mentorship of junior staff to grow a future workforce
  • Contributing to the development of policy and processes to establish consistent ways of working across the region
  • Advocating for the expertise of OT in their unfolding reforms
  • Maintaining clinical skills with a partial community caseload.

Salary:

  • $109,108 to $116,218 per annum + Super + salary packaging
