About this role:

We are seeking qualified Mental Health Nurses to work in an Eating Disorders & early psychosis intervention team based in South Auckland. We can offer 6-12-month fixed term contracts, permanent roles & ongoing assignments.

Successful candidates will become part of the EPIT team Mental Health service for young adults aged 16 to 30 years old. You will help service users within the region who are experiencing early psychotic symptoms and will be offering a safe & friendly environment for youth and their families.

The successful candidates will work alongside other Child Mental Health and Adult Mental Health services which fall under this client also, so the successful candidates must be open to visiting other facilities within the region.

You will be working alongside other Mental Health professionals within this highly supportive team including but not limited to; Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, Cultural Advisors and more.

Essential Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) with the NZ Nursing Council
  • Post-Grad Certificate in Mental Health or Psychiatric Nursing
  • Must be eligible to work in NZ with appropriate immigration visa
  • Proof of Indemnity Insurance
  • CPR training certification
  • Immunization history
  • A full NZ drivers licence

Responsibilities will involve creating treatment options which are tailored to meet the individual needs of the service users which may include; medication, education regarding symptoms, psychological therapy, family meetings, support with practical issues such as benefits, linking with organisations who can assist with housing, and assistance with education and work.
