Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital providing a wide range of both inpatient and outpatient services.

It is located approximately 45 minutes from Sydney CBD in the leafy Upper North Shore area. 

Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is a major metropolitan teaching hospital. Patients can access a range of services including coronary care, intensive care, orthopaedics, general medicine, surgical, obstetric, respiratory, rehabilitation, paediatric, maternity and emergency care.

The hospital also provides a wide range of outpatient services including allied health, dental and podiatry clinics, child, adolescent and family health, drug and alcohol, health promotion and rehabilitation and aged care. An acute mental health service is co-located at Hornsby Hospital.

The hospital underwent a $265 million redevelopment, which was completed in 2021. The redevelopment includes a refurbished and expanded emergency department and a new clinical services building.

Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice

Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice are looking for palliative care, disability, and adolescent specialist nurses to join their new facility.

The Manly Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) is Australia’s first dedicated service for young people with life-limiting illness. The service will be for 15 to 24-year-old patients with life-limiting illness and will offer respite care, symptom management, end-of-life care, and care coordination support in the transition from children’s to adult services.

Located on a portion of the former Manly Hospital site on the North Head headland, the AYAH will provide holistic, specialised care for patients and their families. The facility is surrounded by national parks, bushland and environmental conservation areas, providing a natural and peaceful setting for young people and their families. Construction of the AYAH is now complete. It will open to patients in February 2023.
