Locum Speech Pathologist - Rural Generalist (Grade 2)

The Opportunity
Medacs Healthcare is seeking a passionate and experienced Grade 2 Speech Pathologist for a locum opportunity in a rural Victorian health service. This sole practitioner role offers a unique chance to work across paediatric and adult outpatient clinics, acute and subacute wards, and aged care settings. You'll be supported by an Allied Health Assistant and play a key role in triaging, prioritising, and managing therapy plans.

- Dates: 28 July - 21 December 2025
- Hours: 64-72 hours per fortnight
- Roster: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
- Location: Portland, Victoria (coastal town)
- Accommodation: Shared housing provided
- Travel: Reimbursement capped at $200 (return trip)
Your Role
- Deliver therapy across paediatric (80% caseload), adult outpatient, ward-based, and aged care settings
- Manage clinic triage, diary scheduling, and therapy planning
- Conduct home visits and onward referrals to NDIS as needed
- Treat a wide range of conditions including phonological delays, dysphagia, voice disorders, and acquired communication impairments
About You
- Accredited Speech Pathologist with eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership
- Full working rights in Australia
- You hold a valid Australian driver's license
- Strong clinical knowledge and leadership in speech pathology
- Excellent communication and assessment skills
- Experience working with diverse populations and rural communities
