Locum Clinical Coder Opportunity - Darwin, NT, Starting July 2025

Are you an experienced Clinical Coder looking for your next adventure? A leading public hospital in Darwin, NT, is offering a locum on-site assignment from early July 2025 onwards, lasting 3 weeks, with the potential for extension.

What We're Looking For:

• Minimum 5+ years of coding experience, ideally with complex casemix.
• Public hospital experience is highly preferred.
• Experience using Meditech is also desired but not essential.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role, candidates must have:

• Clinical Coding qualifications from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).
• Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th Edition.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical science.
• Good analytic and abstracting skills.
• Membership with HIMAA.
• Valid Right to work in Australia

Key Responsibilities:

• Assigning accurate and timely clinical codes through analysis using ICD-10-AM, 12th Edition.
• Managing complex casemix coding with precision.
• Building strong relationships with clinicians and staff to improve coding and documentation processes.
