Mental Health Nurse Community - In home service

Medacs Healthcare is partnering with a new Hospital in the Home (HITH) service model, based in Melbourne city that is scheduled to open in early 2026

We are seeking experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN3) with a passion for community-based mental health care to join our innovative team.

About the Role

As part of this pioneering service, you will deliver high-quality mental health care in a community setting, supporting consumers in their own homes. This is an opportunity to be part of a transformative model that prioritises recovery, accessibility, and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and therapeutic interventions in the community.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated care.
• Manage risk effectively and ensure compliance with the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
• Support consumers and their families through recovery-focused engagement.

Selection Criteria

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing (or equivalent) - essential
• Minimum of three years' full-time experience in mental health settings (acute, community, or crisis intervention) for domestic candidates, or four years for international candidates.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022 and contemporary service frameworks.
• Strong assessment, risk management, and therapeutic engagement skills.
