We're seeking an experienced Senior Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic Community Mental Health team in Kempsey for a 12‑week locum assignment, with the potential to extend.

About the Role

As the Senior RN within the Community Mental Health team, you'll provide comprehensive community‑based mental health support to adults experiencing acute or ongoing mental health needs.
You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care, complete assessments, manage risk, and support recovery-focused interventions across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial and mental health assessments in community settings
• Manage a clinical caseload with autonomy and sound clinical judgement
• Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and safety planning
• Collaborate with the MDT, consumers, carers, and external services
• Support continuity of care and contribute to care planning and review
• Provide clinical leadership and mentoring within the team

About You

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in community or acute mental health
• Strong assessment, crisis management, and case management skills
• Ability to work independently in a community outreach model
• Current NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check (or willing to obtain)

Contract Details

• 12‑week locum contract
• Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
• Travel & accommodation available for eligible candidates
• Support from a dedicated mental health recruitment team
