We are seeking dedicated and experienced Registered Nurses (Mental Health) to join a specialised 35‑bed mental health inpatient unit within a reputable private healthcare setting based in Lake Macquarie NSW. This unit provides evidence‑based, recovery‑focused care for adults experiencing a broad range of mental health conditions.
The service offers treatment programs supporting conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma‑related disorders, personality disorders, OCD, phobias, addictive disorders and other complex mental health presentations.
This is an ideal opportunity for nurses who are passionate about mental health and enjoy working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, person‑centred mental health care
- Undertake mental health assessments, care planning and interventions
- Deliver therapeutic engagement and facilitate recovery‑oriented interactions
- Work closely with psychiatrists, allied health clinicians and nursing colleagues
- Support both acute and sub‑acute mental health presentations
- Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation and risk management practices

- 35‑bed specialist mental health inpatient service
- Multidisciplinary team including psychiatry, psychology, social work and allied health
- Access to both inpatient treatment and structured day mental health programs
- Programs cover trauma, mood disorders, addiction, and complex psychiatric needs.
What We're Looking For
- AHPRA Registered Nurse
- Experience in acute or sub‑acute mental health nursing
- Strong therapeutic communication skills
- Ability to manage complex behaviours and maintain a safe environment
- A recovery‑focused, compassionate and team‑oriented approach
- Willingness to work a rotating roster, including nights
