Maintenance Officer - Remote & Regional Aged Care Facilities

About the role

Medacs Healthcare is recruiting experienced Maintenance Officers to support remote and regional residential aged care facilities.

These roles are essential to the day‑to‑day safety and operation of facilities that serve older residents in isolated communities. You'll be the go‑to problem solver on site, working autonomously and supporting both residents and staff.

This is not a metro facilities role - it suits someone practical, adaptable and comfortable being relied upon.

Key responsibilities

• General building and grounds maintenance
• Basic plumbing, electrical and handyman repairs
• Preventative maintenance and safety checks
• Responding to urgent maintenance issues
• Liaising with facility managers and staff
• Ensuring a safe, functional living environment for residents

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in maintenance / facilities roles
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Practical problem‑solving mindset
• Comfortable working in regional or remote settings
• Strong reliability, initiative and adaptability
• Full Australian working rights
