Registered Nurse - Mental Health & AOD (Community)
Permanent Full-Time | Supportive Team | Relocation Support Available
We are currently seeking a Permanent Registered Nurse with experience in Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) services to join a well-established community-based health service.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care that supports individuals and families on their recovery journey.
This role is based in Tasmania.
The Role
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering community-focused mental health and AOD services, working across a range of settings to support improved health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care plans
- Deliver therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused support
- Provide counselling, education, and harm minimisation strategies
- Support clients through withdrawal management and ongoing care
- Facilitate group programs and community education sessions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external providers, and families
- Participate in case reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Travel to outreach and inpatient settings as required
About You
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration - Or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience in mental health, AOD, or community health - Essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
