Registered Nurse - Mental Health & AOD (Community)

Permanent Full-Time | Supportive Team | Relocation Support Available

We are currently seeking a Permanent Registered Nurse with experience in Mental Health and Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) services to join a well-established community-based health service.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, person-centred care that supports individuals and families on their recovery journey.

This role is based in Tasmania.

The Role

In this role, you will play a key part in delivering community-focused mental health and AOD services, working across a range of settings to support improved health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop tailored care plans
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused support
  • Provide counselling, education, and harm minimisation strategies
  • Support clients through withdrawal management and ongoing care
  • Facilitate group programs and community education sessions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, external providers, and families
  • Participate in case reviews and maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Travel to outreach and inpatient settings as required

About You

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration - Or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience in mental health, AOD, or community health - Essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
