About the Role
  • The Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) service is a short‑term, residential mental health program designed for young people aged 16 to 25. It provides a supportive, recovery‑oriented environment for individuals transitioning from hospital care or those needing additional support to prevent further mental health decline.
  • Delivered collaboratively with a community-based organisation, YPARC emphasises a network-focused approach. The service creates a safe and welcoming space where young people can develop practical coping strategies, build on their strengths, and reconnect with personal goals. A key priority is supporting participants to stay connected with their family, community, and support networks throughout their recovery journey.
  • As a YPARC Clinician, you will deliver compassionate and evidence-based care tailored to each young person's recovery goals. You will work collaboratively with individuals, their families, carers, and other supports to foster engagement and positive outcomes. The role requires a commitment to providing holistic, developmentally appropriate care that responds to the unique needs of each young person.
Hours:
This role operates on a rotating roster across seven days, with no overnight shifts required.
Shift times include:
  • Morning: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
  • Afternoon/Evening: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Eligibility
  • A qualification in one of the following
    • Registered Psychiatric Nurse
    • Social Worker
    • Occupational Therapist
  • Registration with the relevant body
  • A minimum of 12 months experience in clinical practice within clinical mental health services, including working with young people experiencing psychological destress and mental health disorders
  • Demonstrated clinical skills including the ability to provide mental health assessments inclusive of mental state examinations and risk assessments
  • Experience in working with young people and their networks to develop individual treatment and recovery plans.
