About the Opportunity
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Registered Midwives
This community-focused role is based within our Outpatient Maternity Service, providing antenatal and postnatal care across hospital, community and outreach settings. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across hospitals and a range of scenic regional outreach locations.
The service provides comprehensive maternity services across Tasmania, supporting women and families through every stage of the maternity journey. Services include:
  • Antenatal and postnatal care
  • Pregnancy assessment services
  • Parenting education programs
  • Birthing suite services
  • Inpatient maternity care
  • Special Care Nursery support
  • Extended care midwifery services following discharge
  • Lactation and breastfeeding support
  • Access to multidisciplinary care including physiotherapy, social work, diabetes services and perinatal mental health support
Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Midwife, you will:
  • Provide safe, evidence-based antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care
  • Support women, families and newborns through all stages of the maternity journey
  • Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and community teams
  • Deliver high-quality care across hospital and community settings
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture that promotes safety, learning and excellence
  • Advocate for women and strengthen health outcomes through partnership-based care
Salary & Benefits
  • Sponsorship and relocation assistance.
  • Salary package from $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (pro rata)
  • Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution
  • Additional post-graduate qualification allowance of up to 10% where applicable

Essential Requirements
To be considered, applicants must possess:
  • Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Current Working with Children Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
