We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist to join a Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS) team in Tasmania. In this role, you will provide specialist mental health care, support recovery-focused outcomes, and work collaboratively with consumers, carers, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert clinical leadership and support in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing management of older adults experiencing complex mental health conditions, including dementia-related behavioural and psychological symptoms.
Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of evidence-based care, quality improvement initiatives, and best-practice mental health services across the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of consumers with complex mental health needs, including individuals living with dementia.
- Deliver specialist assessments, care planning, intervention, and ongoing case management.
- Provide education, guidance, and support to carers, families, and support networks.
- Act as a clinical resource for nursing, medical, and allied health professionals.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical guidelines, quality improvement projects, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Collaborate with community agencies, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders to support positive consumer outcomes.
- Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centred care principles.
About You
To be successful, you will bring:
- Current nursing registration with demonstrated experience in mental health nursing.
- Strong clinical skills in the management of complex mental health presentations.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, relevant legislation, policies, and clinical frameworks.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A commitment to person-centred and trauma-informed approaches to care.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: $109,767 - $115,813 per annum
Plus 12% employer superannuation
