AHPRA Registered Theatre RN - Anaesthetics/Scrub Scout

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Theatre Registered Nurse with skills in Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout nursing to join a leading regional hospital within a Queensland Health Service located in the beautiful Whitsunday region.

This short-term contract offers the chance to work within a supportive perioperative team while enjoying one of Australia's most sought-after coastal destinations.

About the Role

You will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care within the operating theatre environment. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout roles, with experience assisting in Caesarean Sections highly regarded.

The position requires flexibility to participate in an on-call roster, which may include weekends and rostered days off.

Essential Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Recent experience in Theatre Nursing - Anaesthetics and/or Scrub Scout
• Ability to participate in an on-call roster
• Advanced Life Support (ALS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and control practices
• Medication management competency
• Manual handling certification
• Occupational Violence Prevention or equivalent training

Highly Desirable

• Previous Queensland Health experience
• Experience using electronic medical record systems including:
  • ieMR / SurgiNet
  • FirstNet
  • PowerChart
  • HBCIS
• Evidence of EMR training or recognised prior learning
