Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinator | Rural and Remote Aged Care Contracts

Medacs Healthcare is seeking experienced Leisure & Lifestyle Coordinators and Activities Coordinators for agency contracts within aged-care facilities across regional, rural and remote Australia, including services supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
These contracts offer an opportunity to support residents in locations where experienced aged-care professionals are highly valued. You will deliver engaging, culturally respectful and person-centred lifestyle programs that promote residents' social, emotional, cultural, spiritual and physical wellbeing.

About the Role
You will work closely with residents, families and multidisciplinary care teams to provide meaningful lifestyle programs tailored to residents' individual interests, abilities, backgrounds and cultural identities.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Planning and facilitating person-centred group and individual activities
- Supporting residents to maintain social connections, independence and a sense of purpose
- Adapting activities for residents living with dementia, reduced mobility or other support needs
- Providing culturally safe and respectful activities for residents from diverse backgrounds
- Encouraging resident participation while respecting individual preferences and choices
- Completing relevant lifestyle documentation and contributing to resident care planning
- Working collaboratively with nursing, care and community-based teams
About You
To be considered, you will require:
- Experience as a Leisure & Lifestyle Officer, Lifestyle Coordinator or Activities Coordinator
- A minimum of 12 months' experience within aged care or residential care
- Experience planning and facilitating person-centred group and individual activities
- Confidence engaging with older people, including residents living with dementia
- Strong communication, organisation and documentation skills
- A respectful and culturally aware approach to working within diverse communities
- Willingness to travel and work away from home for the duration of your contract
- Current Police Check
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration or equivalent, where required
Previous experience working in rural or remote aged-care facilities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, multipurpose services or culturally diverse environments will be highly regarded.
Relevant qualifications in Leisure and Health, Diversional Therapy, Individual Support, Ageing Support or Community Services will also be highly regarded.
