The Role

As a Maintenance Officer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring facilities remain safe, comfortable, and well-maintained for residents, staff, and visitors.

Reporting directly to the Facility Manager, you'll undertake a variety of maintenance duties, including preventative maintenance, repairs, facility upkeep, grounds maintenance, and responding to day-to-day operational needs.

What You'll Bring

Maintenance & Repairs

  • General handyman and trade skills including painting, carpentry, and repairs
  • Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain tools and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Grounds & Facility Care

  • Landscaping and garden maintenance experience
  • Ability to operate outdoor machinery and equipment
  • Irrigation system maintenance
  • Vehicle and equipment upkeep

Safety & Compliance

  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices
  • Experience conducting risk assessments
  • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Experience coordinating contractors and external trades

Requirements

  • Relevant trade qualification or demonstrated maintenance experience
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in building, property, or site maintenance preferred
  • Understanding of MSDS requirements and safe chemical handling
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to remote environments
