Clinical Coder

Are you an experienced Clinical Coder looking for a rewarding onsite locum opportunity in Regional NSW? We have multiple roles available for contracts starting at a minimum of 6 weeks, with opportunities for extension up to 12 weeks.

About the Role

As a Clinical Coder, your responsibilities will include:

• Accurately coding medical records using ICD-10-AM and ACHI classifications.
• Reviewing clinical documentation to ensure correct coding for billing and reporting.
• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses and procedures.
• Ensuring compliance with Australian coding standards and hospital guidelines.
• Supporting data analysis for healthcare funding and performance reporting.

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Clinical Coding qualifications from the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) or equivalent, or a Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Information Management).
• At least five years of recent experience in clinical coding.
• Sound and updated knowledge of ICD-10-AM 12th Edition.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medical science.
• Good analytic and abstracting skills.
• Membership with HIMAA.
