Maintenance Officer - Aged Care Facility

Roles available: Maintenance Officer & PCA - Shifts can be arranged for the same time/days (This means same time off! ) This will be a long term project so there is a 6wk minimum with possibility for extension.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Officer and PCA to support the upkeep and functionality of our facility. In this hands-on role, they will be responsible for a variety of general maintenance tasks, ensuring our environment remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for residents, staff, and visitors.

• Reporting to the Manager, they will carry out a range of duties including minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Dates:

• Either: ASAP or 16/12/25 start

Core Skills:

Maintenance & Repairs

• General handyman skills (e.g. painting, carpentry, minor repairs)
• Preventative and reactive maintenance experience
• Basic plumbing (e.g. replacing washers, connecting appliances)
• Basic electrical knowledge (e.g. testing outlets, replacing batteries)
• Use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Ability to identify and report major repair needs
• Welding stick/MIG - highly desired

Grounds & Facility Care

• Landscaping and garden maintenance
• Operation of machinery (e.g. lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws)
• Irrigation and reticulation system maintenance
• Cleaning and upkeep of facility vehicles

Position Requirements:

• Formal Trade Qualifications or practical work experience, demonstrating basic trade skills
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Manual License holders will be heavily preferred
• Minimum of 2 years previous experience in building/ site maintenance preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of the understanding of chemical Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and associated safety precautions
• Demonstrated experience of hand tools, equipment and safety
